- The Developer deck has a Claude Code section. VS Code + Claude opens your repo in VS Code and starts Claude in its terminal; set the repo folder under the key's Arguments.
- Keys for Resume, Mode, Compact, Clear, Usage, Context, Review, Model, Opus, Sonnet, Effort, Plan, Paste image, Stop Claude and Yes / Enter. They type into the Claude prompt in front.
- The deck is 8 by 5, one job per row: apps, two rows of Claude, VS Code, and windows with CPU, memory and focus. To get it on a PC that already has the Developer deck, add it again from New profile.
Keys
- Screen off: turns the screens dark while the PC keeps running, for long jobs. A tap warns first; holding turns every screen off at once. Any key or mouse move on the PC, or any other deck key, turns them on again. Set it to one monitor to turn only that one off.
- Max / Min: press to maximize the window in front, hold to minimize it, and press again to bring it back.
- Open browser profile: opens Chrome, Edge or Brave in the profile you choose, on a website if you give one.
- A key with its own hold action now does only that when held, instead of a press and then the hold.
On the phone
- A cat lives under the keys. It naps when the deck sits unused, stretches awake at the next tap, runs to where you touch empty space, and shows its name when you tap it.
- It dresses for the day and for what your PC is doing: a scarf in winter, a witch hat at Halloween, headphones while music plays, glasses during a Pomodoro focus, and more.
- Badges: Early bird, Night owl, Speed run and Zen. Every phone and tablet shows a badge for a moment when you earn it.
- Your week: a card in the deck's settings with your most-pressed key, a bar for each day, your busiest day and your top app.
Editor
- Customize: a new page for the key styles (it replaces Themes) and the cat: turn it on or off and give it a name.
- Stats: presses per day, every key and every app by use, over the last 7 or 30 days. Counted on your PC only.
- The TabbyDeck window opens maximized.

- Developer, Office, Streamer and Music decks. Pick them in the first-run guide, or from New profile in the editor; each one is its own profile, and you can delete it like any other.
- Each deck gets only as many columns as fill its rows (25 keys make 5 by 5), and its app keys open the app found on your PC, with its own icon.
- Keys for apps your PC does not have stay off the decks and come back once the app is installed. The keys after them close up, so no gap is left. The editor marks such keys "Not on this PC".
On the phone
- Swipe the keys left or right to change profile; dots by the profile name show where you are. A key the finger slides over never fires.
- Trackpad and keyboard: a key opens a touchpad. One finger moves the pointer, a tap clicks, two fingers scroll or right-click, and a box types on the PC, with Enter and Backspace.
- Live keys: CPU, memory, battery and the time, shown large on the key.
- Timer and Pomodoro keys: press to start or pause, hold to reset. Every deck gets a message when the time is up or the break starts.
- Add TabbyDeck to the home screen: it opens full screen from its own icon.
- iPhone and iPad: the deck works in Safari on iOS 13 or newer, and from the home screen.
Sound and media
- Volume mixer: the Volume panel has a slider and mute for each app with sound, and a choice of output.
- Switch sound output key: goes to a chosen output, or to the next one each press, and shows which one plays.
- Now playing key: the title, the artist and the cover of what is playing. Tap to play or pause, hold for the next track.
Meetings
- Mute, camera, raise hand and leave keys, for the app you are in a call with: Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Slack huddles or Discord, found by which app is using the microphone. Leave asks first.
- The Camera key lights while an app uses the camera.
Windows and apps
- Do not disturb key: turns Windows notifications off and on, and lights while they are off.
- Decks follow the app in front: give a profile its apps with Follow apps, and phones switch to it while one of them is in front, then back.
- One button can open several apps together: in Apps on this PC, choose Pick several, tick the apps, then Add button.
- Move window: snap a window to a half, maximize, minimize or send it to the other screen. It waits for an app that is still opening.
- A Wait step, for buttons that open apps and then arrange them.
- Open app or file opens folders too, and Switch to window can pick an app that is open now.
Editor
- Six key styles: Keycap, Sunken, Soft, Glass, Pad and Outline, for every profile at once or one at a time.
- Put profiles in any order by dragging them; phones swipe through them in that order.
- Steps read better: they show the app's name and the choice made.
- Phone can't connect? Under the QR code, TabbyDeck checks the Wi-Fi, the firewall and VPNs on the PC, and lists what to try on the phone.
Fixes
- Security: text passed to Windows PowerShell can no longer end its quotes early with a curly quote, and phones cannot send app names with quotes in them.
- Switch app goes to the app used before, on any screen.
- Mute microphone could fail after the volume panel had been opened.
-
